How it works
LYC is a new club and as our membership expands so will our fleet of luxury motor sports cruisers, flybridge and sailing yachts. Regardless of size, every boat will exceed your expectations for a boat of her class. Over time the choice of yachts and ports will increase to give members a greater selection of craft and locations around the Mediterranean. All this for less than 10% of the annual running cost of owning and maintaining your own yacht.
We will provide low commitment, affordable yachting to both new and experienced sailors. We provide an easy and sensible way to sail a new yacht or powerboat for a fraction of the normal cost.
As a member you can enjoy all the convenience, access and advantages of a new yacht or powerboat - all inclusive of insurance, maintenance and marina fees. We take care of the boat - you just turn up and relax.
As a member you will pay an annual membership. Each boat will have no more than six members who will have the use of the yacht for a set period of days in each season, and a minimum allowance of six weeks per year. Our online booking website will allow members to select their preferred allowance, subject to availability, on a first come first served basis.
What you get
For a one off annual membership fee you get the use of a brand new luxury yacht or sport cruiser. The Club will take care of all maintenance, marina fees, insurance and cleaning.
Your six weeks usage will comprise of the following time periods:
First round booking for Mid and High season.
May and June
One weekend Friday pm to Monday am and one weekday period Monday pm to Friday am. These can be used together to form a Monday pm to Monday am full week period, subject to availability.
July and August
One weekend Friday pm to Monday am and one weekday period Monday pm to Friday am. These can be used together to form a Monday pm to Monday am full week period, subject to availability.
September and October
One weekend Friday pm to Monday am and one weekday period Monday pm to Friday am. These can be used together to form a Monday pm to Monday am full week period, subject to availability.
Second round booking for Mid and High season.
This will only be available once each of the six members has selected their first three weeks allowance.
May to October
One weekend Friday pm to Monday am and one weekday period Monday pm to Friday am, these can be used together to form a Monday pm to Monday am full week period, subject to availability.
Low season, November, December, March and April
Two further weekend and weekday periods to be booked online on a first come first served basis.
Why does this make sense?
On average a private boat will only be used for a fraction of the time, they spend significant lengths of time unused.
This will tie up a significant amount of capital, annual expenditure and time worrying about your boat unattended in a foreign port. Luxury Yacht Club will remove these issues.
By spreading the boats availability among six members, everyone benefits. Members will have ample time allocations, and much more time than the average boat owner would actually use, and no other financial worries. In fact the annual membership is significantly less than the annual running costs of owning your own boat.
