Palma de Mallorca

The island of Mallorca offers some of the finest sailing in the Mediterranean. It is hard to imagine anything more idyllic than setting out from Palma, Mallorca on your own yacht.

Cruising along the coast to a deserted bay, dropping anchor for lunch and a swim and then leaving in the mid-afternoon to catch the sea breeze and race back to harbour for dinner.

Palma is the perfect place to keep a yacht. There are convenient flights from every major airport in the UK, and the prices are reasonable. Within a short distance of the marina berth there are a plethora of harbours, marinas, anchorages and old towns. The weather in summer is typically Mediterranean, with clear blue skies, bright sunshine and a regular afternoon breeze to help give you a real sense of fun.

There’s much more than just the sailing though. The wildlife is a major attraction. Mallorca is great place for bird-watchers and the waters around Mallorca, Menorca and Ibiza are home to many dolphins.

The Balearics also have great food (with seafood an obvious speciality) and a rich and varied history encompassing the Spanish, the French, the British and many other cultures.
